<p><p><b>What Youll Do : </b></p><br/><p>As an Python Backend Developer (Data Pipelines/ETL) , youll be part of a high-impact, fast-moving team working directly with the founding team.
This role goes beyond pure data engineering it's about building backend systems where data is the core product.</p><br/><p><b>Build New Products & Features : </b></p><br/><p>- Work closely with founders to develop data-first features that drive business intelligence and automation.</p><br/><p>- Design scalable backend services that extract, clean, and structure real-world data for use in AI, analytics, and customer-facing features.</p><br/><p><b>System Reliability & Performance : </b></p><br/><p>- Ensure high availability, scalability, and performance of backend services used by thousands of users.</p><br/><p>- Evolve system architecture to handle larger datasets and faster pipelines while maintaining long-term maintainability.</p><br/><p><b>Backend & Data Engineering : </b></p><br/><p>- Build and maintain Python-based backend systems optimized for speed and extensibility.</p><br/><p>- Develop ETL pipelines and process large volumes of web and API data (real-time and batch).</p><br/><p>- Manage and optimize PostgreSQL databases (schema design, indexing, performance tuning).</p><br/><p>- Implement web scraping and reverse engineering techniques using tools like Selenium.</p><br/><p>- Prepare structured datasets to support AI workflows (internal and third-party tools).</p><br/><p>- Configure and deploy services on Linux-based cloud servers using tools like Nginx, uWSGI, and monitoring tools.</p><br/><p><b>What Were Looking For : </b></p><br/><p>- 2 to 6 years of backend software development experience, preferably in data-intensive environments.</p><br/><p>- Proficient in Python, especially with ETL and data pipelines.</p><br/><p>- Experience with PostgreSQL or similar RDBMS schema design, large dataset optimization.</p><br/><p>- Strong understanding of web scraping, external APIs, and real-world data ingestion.</p><br/><p>- Exposure to AI/ML workflows (e.g., data preprocessing, model APIs).</p><br/><p>- Bonus : Experience with Python-based web frameworks and cloud deployment environments.</p><br/></p> (ref:hirist.tech)
